St Matthew’s Primary school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Our designated Safeguarding Lead for children is

Mrs Rotherham (Assistant Headteacher).

Other staff fully trained and available to provide significant cover when she is absent are:

Miss K Ritchie (Headteacher)

Miss A Worthington (Deputy Headteacher)

Miss C Hextall (SENDCo)

They are responsible for child protection issues.

We also have a nominated Governor Mr S Tranter and Mrs E Greenhalgh.

In addition all adults in school are trained annually to keep our children as safe as possible.

Bolton council also ensures the safeguarding of all children in their authority.
